The City of Ottawa honoured iconic community leaders Yomi and Kelly Pratt with the city’s prestigious Community Builder awards. The awards were presented by Mayor Jim Watson in the presence of a full state of City Councillors, plus over a hundred family and friends of the couple. In his speech, Mayor Watson acknowledged the philanthropy and community leadership and volunteerism by Yomi and Kelly, especially their annual Black History Month gala, the proceeds of which had been donated to charities such as the Haiti Hurricane relief fund and the Ottawa School Board breakfast program.
