I don’t know where to start with this, so why not start from the beginning. I am the first child my parents had and was born in the UK. Even though I was very young, I still remember some great times I had with my father. He always showed very much love and affection. When we relocated to Canada, I had to start attending school in French. This was a big deal to me, but I liked the challenge. My father would always encourage me and motivate me to do well. Although French is not his first or second language, he was always ready to help me if need be. Due to the fact that we have a very musical background, my daddy would even create songs to help me learn and memorize the class material.
As the years went by, my father was always by my side and was always ready to teach me new things. He was the first to teach me how to ride a bike without training wheels and was also the first to teach me how to drive. Last Christmas, my father and I went home to the village and partook in a medical mission. This was my first time going to Nigeria and I am so thankful I did. Going to see where I am from and learning about my heritage was a great experience I got to live with my dad. Waiting until I was old enough to fully comprehend and acknowledge my country was a great decision my father made. This trip was a wonderful time for my dad and I to bond whilst meeting new family and helping those in our community.
I know I made him proud while in Nigeria and that is one of the greatest feelings for a daughter. My dad is always extremely supportive in whatever we do and I am so grateful for that. He will always push us to strive to be the best we can. Therefore, his perseverance is an attribute I aspire to obtain. My Daddy has always been and always will be a role model to Nnenna, Obioma and myself. We might not always show how much we appreciate you, but Daddy please know that we love and appreciate you more than you can imagine. We have had so many great moments with you Daddy and we can’t wait for the many more to come.
Ahurum gi na anya daddymm.
Love,
Ada gi
