Some forty people were at Ottawa’s City hall on Sunday to take in the city’s annual Immigrant Women’s Small business Expo, showcasing advances made by newcomer entrepreneurs in the world of private business.  Highlights of the day-long event included a panel of experts on the theme: “The Changing Face of the Immigrant Community”; presentations by Julie Flippin of  Small Business Savvy: “Sales + Strategy = Success”; Business Development Canada: “5 tips to help your banker finance your business”; and Investors Group: “Three business types and how the newly proposed tax law will affect them”.  Among the exhibitors were I/O Advisory Group, Investors Group, Market America: Beauty and Wellness, Kamshuka, Henna Time, Ontario Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services, The Weekend Fashionista, Palm Tree Ministries and Bella’s Solution Mobile Star.
