JOCA Volunteer appreciation

On January 18, 2014, The Jamaican (Ottawa) Community Association paid tribute to their 2013 volunteers. President Joanne Robinson,  thanked the members for coming and expressed the gratitude of the board and association to them.  Without volunteers community organizations cannot survive. Mrs. Judith Headley and Ms. Stacey Simmons provided each volunteer with a certificate of appreciation. The United Way Community Builders award was also given to two members of the community: Mrs. Mylcha Faucher and Mr. Len Puckerin.  Jaku Konbit’s Mobile Community Kitchen (JKMCK) catered the meal for the event.
