The 8th annual Community Family Fun Picnic and Kites 4 Cancer Fundraiser at Petrie Island was once again a success.
The day was full of activities for the entire family, including live entertainment from local and regional artists, food, and games for all. Through this initiative, Kites 4 Cancer proceeds are raised from the sale of kites and other activities, and donated to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation for research. One of the main messages was that advances in research help everyone. Those in attendance included Orléans Councillor Bob Monette and MPP for Ottawa-Orléans Marie-France Lalonde.
