Greg Fergus appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today announced the appointment of MP Greg Fergus as Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government.  

Mr. Fergus fills the vacancy created when Joyce Murray was named President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Digital Government. His experience in the private and public sectors will support the continued implementation of the government’s ambitious agenda, while helping grow the economy and strengthen the middle class.

Greg Fergus was elected to represent the riding of Hull—Aylmer in the 2015 federal election.

Mr. Fergus has been Vice-Chair of the Canada-Africa Parliamentary Association and an Executive Member of both the Canada-United Kingdom Inter-Parliamentary Association and the Canadian Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. He has also been a Member of the Standing Committee on Finance.

Mr. Fergus has worked in the private and public sectors, with not-for-profit organizations, and in academia. He earned a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa, and a Bachelor in International Relations from Carleton University.

Mr. Fergus had previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development from 2015 to 2017.
