On a bleak Wednesday morning on 6 November, 2013, scores of family and friends gathered at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Benjamin Avenue to honour Theresa Prescott Brown who passed away on 31 October. Husband Regius Brown, daughter Melissa, son-in-law Jason and grand-daughter Abrielle were the chief mourners in a service to celebrate the life of a woman, who had remained steadfast in her dedication as a wife, mother, grandmother and church leader, even as she battled the ravages of ovarian cancer. With a homily by Pastor Lindsay Chineegadoo, reflections by Pastor Jason O’Rourke, songs of comfort by Vanessa London, testimonial by Elder Reed Andrews, the celebration ended on a high with a rousing rendition of “Take My Hand Precious Lord” by Venessa London and Rev. Ernie Cox.  Late Theresa Prescott Brown was buried following an interment service conducted by Pastor Chineegado at the Highland Park Cemetery in Carp.
