Wednesday 23 April witnessed an extraordinary scene at St. Anthony Centre: the acclamation of Yasir Naqvi as the provincial Liberal Party candidate for Ottawa Centre.  The affable MPP and Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, was all smiles, flanked by wife Christine and baby son Rafi, as hundreds of placard-waving supporters and admirers gathered to honour this community champion, ahead of what could be a spring election in the province of Ontario. Lisa Stillborn, Vice Chair, Ottawa Centre Liberal riding association, presided over event, with the nomination by youth leader Adam Moscoe, seconded by Isabel Metcalfe. Ottawa South MPP Hugh Fraser was among the many distinguished personalities there to witness Yasir’s candidacy.
