The Glebe Community Centre was practically bursting at the seams as Ottawa Centre MPP Yasir Naqvi and MP Catherine McKenna hosted their annual New Year levee, with over a hundred fans and friends in attendance. Among those present were Carl Nicholson, Executive Director of the Catholic Centre for Immigrants; Sarah Onyango, Black History Ottawa’s Community Outreach Officer; Awad Loubani, former Co-Chair, Community and Police Action Committee; Henry Lu, Chairman Federation of Ottawa Chinese Community Associations; Robert Yip, Director, Ottawa Heritage Month Society and Yomi Pratt, President, Global community Alliance. Musical entertainment was provided by a youthful four-member ensemble from the OrKidstra, a child and youth empowerment organisation.
