Foreign diplomats joined members of Ottawa’s Nigerian community at a remembrance service at St. Andrew’s Church on Kent Street, in honour of the late High Commissioner, Ambassador Ojo Maduekwe. As well there was an Interdenominational Service of Songs and Tribute held for him at the Overcomers’ Chapel, Redeemed Christian Church of God on Auriga Drive, Ottawa.
Community leader and activist, Dr. Geoffrey Ebere, also travelled to Nigeria to lend support to the family of the late Ambassador, during the funeral celebrations in the ambassador’s home town, Ohafia, Abia State, Nigeria, on behalf of the Igbo Association of Ottawa/Gatineau.
