When God keeps His promises. To God be the glory for great things He has done. Delay is never a denial. When God says yes, who can so no!

This moment is dedicated to all the remarkable women who came before me, those who walked miles so I could take a single step forward—my grandmother, my mom, my sisters, my nieces, my aunties, my friends, my colleagues, my sisters in Christ, and the community. You have lifted me when I was low, encouraged me when I doubted, and stood firmly by my side through every challenge. I am here today because of your unwavering support, prayers, and belief in me.

I am profoundly humbled and deeply honored to receive the King Charles III Medal. This recognition is not just mine—it belongs to all of us. It represents the strength of the community, the power of resilience, and the impact of coming together to create change.

My work in the community has always been about love, empowerment, and service—providing a voice for the unheard, creating safe spaces for the vulnerable, and building pathways for the next generation to rise higher. This medal is a reminder of the journey we have walked together and the work we will continue to do.

To all the women who held my hand, prayed for me, and believed in the vision, this is for you. Let us keep walking, keep building, and keep shining.

Together, we will continue to make history. Thank you for being my village. This is our victory.

Many thanks to MPP Lucille Collard, MP Mona Fortier and Councillor Rawlson O’Neil King for recognizing ACB Wellness Resource Centre, Ottawa First Black-led Holistic Community Centre, as we continue Making Connections! Our Community, Our Future.
