 African Group of Ambassadors in Canada bid farewell to outgoing Nigerian High Commissioner Adeyinka Asekun

The African Group of Ambassadors and High Commissioners in Canada hosted the outgoing Deputy Dean of the Group and outgoing High Commissioner of Nigeria to Canada, H.E. Adeyinka Asekun, to a farewell breakfast at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa on December 8, 2023.

The Dean of the group and High Commissioner of Uganda to Canada, Her Excellency Joy Ruth Acheng, spoke glowingly about his dedication, excellence, and commitment to service in the last six years as they celebrated the successful completion of his tour of duty. His Excellency Adeyinka Asekun was overwhelmed with the show of love and accolades from his colleagues. He commended the camaraderie and urged the group to keep the conversations about Africa and the need for meaningful partnerships with Canada more robust to strengthen trade and investments on the continent. After serving six years, High Commissioner Adeyinka Asekun and his family returned to Nigeria on December 13, 2023.
