Andrew Newton, Erica Cadogan, Jacquie Dixon, Jacqueline Guishard, J. Nadia Headley, Sheree Saunders, Leila Springer and the Reid Family were all there in person to receive their awards and certificate. Three awardees came into Toronto from Ottawa and Montreal. Yvette Leslie, Angela Welch and Dr. Christopher Clarke were also awarded and participated virtually from other provinces. The Unsung Hero Awards are in their 3rd year but this year they were renamed the Donald Moore Unsung Heroes Awards after Barbadian – Canadian civil rights activist Donald Willard Moore.
The awards presentation was again admirably chaired by Reeva Goodman. High Commissioner Gline Clarke and Counsellor Andre Padmore travelled in from Ottawa to join CG Sonia Marville-Carter and the team in Toronto to participate in the awards presentation. The gathering was blessed with the music ministry of Jai Symone, and the musical instruments of York United Caribbean Islands along with Mr. Hunte the DJ who did not disappoint. A great time was had by all as family, friends and well-wishers came to support the awardees and celebrations continued after the formal presentations concluded.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL AWARDEES!
