In the spirit of Christmas and the festive season, Black community organizations collaborated in providing food, toys, and other household items to group homes, people of low income, homeless shelters, and food banks. Among these organizations were the African Canadian Association of Ottawa (ACAO), Equal Chance, and the Hera Mission. Participating in the food and toy distribution were: City of Ottawa Councillors Rawlson King and Mathieu Fleury, Federal Government Minister Mona Fortier, ACAO President John Adeyefa, Hera Mission’s Peggy Taillon with her son Devlin, Equal Chance leader Gwen Madiba, and OttoBMW Car dealership.
