Biographical details
Originally from Cameroon, I have been living in the Rideau-Vanier ward since 2006.
A graduate from the University of Yaounde, an affiliate of Leeds University in Great Britain, with a degree in Modern Letters, I am a literary and musical artist with three world class thrillers and two musical albums to my credit.
Since settling in Ottawa, I have worked for many organizations including AT&T, Resolve, Sun Media, and with OC Transpo where I worked as a transit information clerk.
Throughout my roles in each of these organizations, I have gained experience in the business sector which has given me a wealth of respect for our community’s business owners and an insight into the important role that business plays in helping to shape our community and promote the positive entrepreneurial spirit that drives our local and national economy.
It also inspired me to start my own small business in the telecommunications sector which I am currently operating and growing from strength to strength with every passing day.
For my short time in OC Transpo I also came to learn much about our city transport systems which included the buses, the Otrain and the Paratranspo.
I also had the opportunity to ride in all the buses during my spare time to understand the transit networks and know all the issues that both the transit provider and transit users face. I visited all the bus stations and three quarters of all the bus stops, most of which I knew by heart.
Fluently bilingual for a bilingual city like Ottawa I am ready to communicate with residents of my ward in any of the two national languages.
I have been meeting residents of the community to discuss their issues and find solutions that work. I welcome any community member to contact me to talk about or community.
I am married to Grace Atanga, and we have three children, Cindy, Precious and Megan.
