The seminar was held at the Public Service Alliance of Canada building on  Gilmour Avenue. Topics covered included: Support for Family Caregivers, Cluster Living, Budgeting, Estate Planning, Fraud Prevention and end of life planning. Over eighty people were there to participate in the interactive presentations. The event included  free breakfast and lunch for the participants. The partners in this event were: Black History Ottawa, National Institute of Jamaican-Canadians, Racially Visible Action Committee, Jamaica (Ottawa) Community Association, Jaku Konbit, Guyana Ottawa Cultural Association and the St Vincent and the Grenadines Ottawa Association. Part of the funding came from a grant to Black History Ottawa by the government of Canada New Horizons for Seniors’ program.
