Inspector Isobel Granger addresses her fans

Friday 18 May

Ottawa’s favourite police officer Isobel Granger was feted by some 200 friends and colleagues at a sold-out gala last Friday at the Centurion Centre on Collonade Road. Organised by Black Agenda Noir, the event celebrated Isobel’s promotion to the rank of Inspector, the first Black female to hold such a post in the Ottawa Police Service. Among the attendees were retired Police Inspector Terry Friday, the city’s first Black to hold that rank and one of Isobel’s mentors, who came all the way from his retirement residence in  Florida, Chief of Ottawa Police Charles Bordileau,  as well as fellow Ottawa Police Inspectors Carl Cartwright and Paul Burnett.
