I am honoured to receive this recognition. I am so proud of the work that associations like the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, the Canadian Center For Women’s Empowerment (CCFWE), and the Black Canadian Scholarship Fund do in the community.

The Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) Celebrates Jacqueline Beckles, King Charles III Coronation Medal Recipient

We are thrilled to congratulate Jacqueline Beckles, CABL Ottawa Vice-President, on receiving the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of her exceptional contributions to Canada’s legal profession and her unwavering commitment to community service.

Recipients were selected for their significant contributions to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community in Canada, or for their outstanding achievements abroad that bring credit to Canada.

Jacqueline currently serves as Acting Deputy Director General and General Counsel at the Department of Justice Canada | Ministère de la Justice du Canada (DOJ). Over the course of her distinguished career, she has championed equity and inclusion, mentored countless students and professionals, and provided legal expertise on critical international matters. Her volunteer work spans multiple legal organizations, including her leadership within CABL and the Black Employees’ Network at DOJ.

A dedicated advocate, thought leader, and role model, Jacqueline exemplifies excellence in all she does. We are proud to count her among CABL’s leadership.

Congratulations, Jakki!
