Good morning folks
It’a with heavy heart that we bring you the Top Story for December 2023, the passing to glory of our ally, professional colleague and trusted friend, iconic community leader Felicite Murangira. Felicite was a person who truly cared for the ACB community, as could be seen by her exemplary leadership in fighting the scourge of HIV/AIDS in Canada’s national capital through public education and other practical initiatives. Black Ottawa Scene joins our community in expressing our condolences to her family.
Other news we are following in this edition include the launch of a new talk radio by the African Canadian Association of Ottawa, fundraiser by the Agnes Zabali Club, Our Shared legacy Symposium in celebration of the United Nations Decade for people of African descent and more.
Here is the result of the November 2023 poll: Are you directly affected by the war in Ukraine or the one in Gaza? Yes 40% No 60%. Thank you to all who voted. Here is the poll for December 2023: Did you go shopping on Black Friday?
Wishing you and your loved the best of the Christmas and holiday season.
