Oh my word!!!! Tonight’s launch of the Lukasa Library in Vanier was a wonderful community celebration! I love that it was organized by some incredibly creative and savvy young women and that the event was so multigenerational! Huge Shout-out to the awesome Dr. Clyde for the vision, Luc, for acting on that vision, the community members and organizations who have donated books (in different languages), Brenda for some of the beautiful decor, and A Different Booklist for being the official bookseller for folks wishing to purchase books for this magnificent library.

So pleased to participate in the launch of #LukasaLibrary last evening !!!

Kudos to the young ladies who organised the launch and who continue to process the book donations and implement this awesome initiative!

Last evening, I donated a crate of books that were gathering dust at my home. I invite you to drop off your donations at 235 Montreal Road, Ottawa or buy books for donation at A Different Book who will forward your purchase directly to the library.

Bravo and congratulations to the #ottawablackmentalhealthcoalition for receiving the award for the most books donated! And, many thank to those of you who have already donated.

To date, over 450 books have been donated!!! Not counting the flood of books donated last evening…
