The federal government is investing over $18 million annually — that’s $180 million over 10 years — to improve Ottawa’s public transit. Our community expects faster, smarter, and reliable transit. The Liberal government will keep working with our city to help build a greener and better-connected Ottawa!

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honour the memory of the six million Jews and millions of others who were brutally murdered during the Holocaust.

This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, a moment that stands as a profound reminder of the atrocities committed and the resilience of those who survived.

This day is not only an opportunity to reflect on the horrors of the past but also a call to confront the persistence of antisemitism in our country today. We must remain vigilant and united against hate in all its forms.

I encourage you to read the House of Commons Justice Committee’s report, “Heightened Antisemitism in Canada and How to Confront It” at https://www.ourcommons.ca/document…/en/44-1/JUST/report-27.

To solve the housing crisis and end homelessness, we need all hands on deck. That’s the message I relayed at the community meeting hosted by Centretown Community Association, Centretown CHC | CSC du Centre-ville, Somerset West Community Health Centre and Ottawa’s Dalhousie Community Association.

Thanks to Operation Come Home, The Ottawa Mission, Salus Ottawa – Supportive Housing and Mental Health Svc, CCOC – Centretown Citizens Ottawa Corporation, Options Bytown and neighbours with lived experience for sharing their insights and guidance.
