Group pic Nigerian Picnic 11 July 2015

Saturday 11 July 2015

Over five hundred Nigerian Canadians were at Vincent Massey Park with family and friends to celebrate their annual summer mega picnic. The atmosphere was one filled with music, chatter, laughter and comradeship. There were fun events for all age groups, from jumping castle for the very young to tug of war for teens and soccer for one and all.  Not to forget the vast array of ethnic food: jollof rice, plantain, puff puff, akara , you name it it was there for all to relish. Special guests were Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Canada, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, as well as the Deputy High Commissioner Ambassador Onianwa and his wife. All the regional Nigerian ethnic group leaders were there to lend support for this show of unity among Nigerians in the diaspora. Bravo to NCAO President John Adeyefa and his executive committee for a job well done.
