My second cultural adventure on Friday was at the “Felabration Shakara” event at Club SAW! What an absolutely invigorating tribute to the iconic Father of Afrobeat, the great Fela Kuti! Hats (and geles!) off to the organizers ( I see you Woke Studios Collective and Creatorland!) for obtaining the official blessing of the Kuti family so that we Ottawans could enjoy this extraordinary cultural immersion, which included stunning artwork, delicious food, colourful fashions and electrifying live musical performances! I’m already looking forward to next year!
