On October 11, 2014, the Uganda Association of Ottawa held its annual Independence Day dinner and dance at the Jim Robillard Centre. The event featured speeches by the Ugandan High Commissioner to Canada, along with remarks by his wife, the association’s president, Jimmy Sebulime, and Ottawa City Council candidate Lilly Obina, traditional dances and a silent auction. Guests were also treated to a delicious buffet replete with Ugandan delicacies.
