House of PainT Festival  celebrated its 15th year in Ottawa last week.  On Saturday, More than 100 graffiti artists, urban dancers, Mc’s Poets, bands, and DJs of all levels gathered underneath the Dunbar Bridge, across from Brewer Park, to celebrate and elevate hip hop culture as part of House of PainT Festival.  The event was billed as one “to pay homage  to the roots of Hip Hop culture”, and featured DJing, MCing, Graffiti, and Breakin’, regarded as the four pillars of Hip Hop.  Over 200 fans were on hand to watch the breaking competitions, concerts, vendor booths and and mural walls.  According to the organisers, the winner of the this year’s Dance Battles will represent Canada in the European championships.
