Yemi Alade headlines Festival international Nuits d’Afrique

When I found out earlier this year that Queen Yemi Alade would be headlining at Festival international Nuits d’Afrique this year, I vowed to be there….and so, last night, I was among the thousands of fans who witnessed our Queen’s unforgettable performance on the Scène TD in Montreal!! It was 60 minutes of raw energy, unbridled fun and sensuality, and love! Yemi reminded us how she was denied her opportunity to make her FINA debut…and more than made up for it last with a pair of extremely athletic dancers and world class musicians from Nigeria. I love that she spoke so much French, and the icing on the cake for me (besides that fabulous rendition of the hit “Looking For My Johnny”) was when Yemi shook my hand as she was running through the audience 
! The festival continues until Sunday (July 23), so if you’re able to get to Montreal, please check it out! Make sure you take lots of $pending money as there are so many beautiful products on sale, from clothing, jewelry and bags to instruments, home decor and skin care.
