The Glebe Community Centre on Third Avenue was a hive of activity on Saturday as the Canadians of African Descent Health Organization (CADHO) held its 2025 Annual General Meeting and Christmas party. Some forty people from the city’s diverse African Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities, ranging from very young children to adults and seniors, were on hand for the last event for the festive season. CADHO President Prof Josephine Etowa started the ball rolling with her report on the organization’s activates and achievement’s over the past year. These included successful grant applications which enabled it to conduct research on major health issues affecting the ACB communities, and health and wellness programs for seniors. She was followed by Rev. Joseph Kiirya with a Financial report; Dr. Ubabuko Unachukwu with the Governance and Policy Committee report; and Kudirat Sala-Alada on the Seniors’ Project. Following on that, Prof Etowa presented Certificates of Appreciation to: Jane Odongo, Francis Ukposilido, Ijeoma Ukazu, Ruby Edet, Yvette Ashiri, late Joy Osiagwu and others.

A delicious menu of jollof rice, chicken, salad, puff puff, and plantains, was served to round off a thorughly entertaining afternoon.
