Meet Our Awesome Editorial Team – Past and Present

When we set out in October 2013 to launch Ottawa’s very first digital newspaper, Black Ottawa Scene, we had no idea where this journey would take us. Now ten years later, we are here, as a vibrant, articulate and highly respected media presence, documenting and reporting on the lived experience of the people of African descent resident in the Canada’s capital city.
From my solo sojourn with my Nikon camera, I was the solo runner in this media race, competing with the likes of the Ottawa Citizen and the Ottawa Sun, for a space in the hearts and minds of the diverse communities of this great city. Now ten years later, we believe we have found our place at the dining table of the consciousness of the people of Canada and the nation’s capital. Black Ottawa Scene has certainly arrived, and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing, dedicated and diligent contribution of our awesome editorial associates, past and present. For your reading pleasure, we present this honour roll of the men and women, who have done the heavy lifting in getting our esteemed publication where it is today.
