Dr. Julius Uzoaba
Dr. Julius Uzoaba

The greatest tribute to the deceased is not grief but gratitude.  Dr. Julius Uzoaba, who answered the Lord’s call on February 17, 2014, was our father, a loving husband, a caring uncle, and a loyal friend. It is with the fondest memory that we remember and appreciate the precious time we were granted to spend with him. .  We remain forever grateful for his love, support and wisdom. Born in Ogwa, Owerri, Nigeria, his unquenchable thirst for knowledge brought him to Canada. From the University of Ottawa, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Criminology, capping it later with a Doctorate in Criminology from the University of Edinburgh.  His strong belief in social justice drove him to strive relentlessly for the elimination of racial discrimination in the Canadian workplace, starting with his own.   April 28, 2014 would have marked his 75th birthday.  Although he is no longer with us in body, we know that he is with us in spirit, and that we continue to celebrate the full life he lived. We, and the many, who have benefited from the progress he made in the area of social justice, still remember his dedication and untiring devotion to the causes that were near and dear to his heart. Equally not forgotten was his generosity towards many of the foreign students who came here to study and, at one time or another, found themselves stranded

Always in our hearts, the memory of Dr. Julius Uzoaba will forever live evergreen. We count ourselves blessed to have shared in his life and achievements.
