In Loving Memory of Lorna Harvey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lorna Harvey on May 27, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born in England on September 15, 1960, Lorna later made her home in Ottawa, Ontario, where she built a life rooted in compassion, community, and service.

Lorna was the beloved daughter of Len and Dorothy Harvey and a cherished sister to Sandie Nault (Dawn), and Colin. She was also a devoted aunt to Eric and Tasha Rose (Natasha) and a proud great-aunt to Zayn and Jazmine. A loving niece and cousin to her extended family in England, Lorna maintained close ties with her roots and treasured the connections she shared with family across the ocean. Throughout her career, Lorna dedicated herself to supporting young people through her work in group homes and with the Youth Services Bureau (YSB). Her kindness, patience, and unwavering commitment had a positive impact on countless lives. Lorna found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially attending social gatherings and spending time with friends and family. She was also known for her deep love of her Jamaican heritage and cherished the time she spent on the beautiful beaches of Negril. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and genuine interest in others made her a treasured friend and family member who will be deeply missed.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Bridlewood Retirement Residence for the compassionate care and support they provided during Lorna’s final weeks.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Lorna’s life on Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Julian of Norwich Anglican Church, 7 Rossland Avenue, Ottawa, ON K2G 2K2. Together, we will remember and honor a woman whose kindness, dedication, and love for her community touched so many lives.

Lorna’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
