Former Ottawa resident, Komi Olafimihan, or Komi Olaf as he’s usually known, is a painter and an award-winning spoken-word poet. Komi was raised in Nigeria and now based in Toronto. His artwork often takes an Afrofuturistic bent, and has been featured on Black Ottawa Scene and other ethnic and mainstream media in the past several years.
