Good morning all

Hope you are enjoying the last days of summer and that those of you with young children are all set for their return to school. Our Top Story for the September 2024 edition is the society wedding of Tembeka and Olasunkanmi Adebero. We also bring you news about JAM day, Flo’s Seniors’, Ugandan Opposition leader Bobby Wine’s visit to Ottawa, as well as Emancipation Day celebrations around the city.

Our feature writers are back in full swing, with Kwaku Kusi-Appiah giving readers insight into the topic of food; Cal Lawrence on the wider implications of drunk-driving; and Waheed Khan leading readers on a journey into the origins of Emancipation Day.

We also bring you reviews of the movie SING SING, the musical Come from Away and the art exhibition Girl Seen and Heard.

We also continue our series All About Seniors with insights on managing their health and finances.

Here is the result of the August 2024 poll: Did you watch the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic games? Yes 0% No 100% Thank you to all who voted. Remember to take part in the September 2024 poll: Do you believe Kamala Harris will defeat Donald Trump in the upcoming US Presidential election?

All the best and take good care of yourselves and your loved ones.
