Nigerians in Canada’s national capital, celebrated their country’s 55th Independence anniversary with a number of events. The week started with the raising of its national flag at City Hall, jointly by Deputy Mayor Bob Monnette; Nigeria High Commission Charge d’Affaires, Jaffar Balarabe and NCAO President, John Adeyefa. It was followed by a reception hosted by the Nigeria High Commission at the Chateau Laurier, and rounded off at the weekend, with a gala organized by the Nigerian-Canadian Association of Ottawa at Jean Piggott Hall, City of Ottawa.
