Revellers who had set their sights on Petrie Island in Ottawa’s east end on Saturday 18 June were in search of the most prized Caribbean social event of the year, Carivibe. And they were not disappointed. The hundreds of men,women and children of all races and ethnicities were treated to an all-day sold-out feast of soca and reggae music, food, drinks, display kiosks from commercial vendors and no-profit organisations but mostly lots of fun. New this year was a teen fest, a kiddies carnival and an all-new water fun section for the kids.
