Rwandans in Ottawa gathered on Friday at the National Arts Centre with their guests to celebrate their country’s 61st Independence Day anniversary. Also known as Liberation Day, the event marked the 29 anniversary of the genocide that decimated their population and left bitter memories for survivors and their families.
