Saturday 26 October saw hundreds of St. Lucians with their friends at the Jim Durrell Community Centre to celebrate their annual Jounen Kwéyòl (Creole Day), a festival, celebrated across the island since 1984.  Organised by the St. Lucia Ottawa Association (SLOA), the memorable event brought together an exciting mix of children, youth, adults and seniors dressed in the most flamboyant colours of their beautiful island homeland. The entertainment included amazing African drumming by Eric Sarah, drama by Eurick Charles, dance by children from the Cultural Arts studio, fashion modelling  with dresses designed by St. Lucian Sara Charles, and poetry by Esther Charles. Michael Willius, St. Lucia Consul General from Toronto was there as a special guest.
