Suzanne Obiorah, Chief Executive Officer, Somerset West Community Health Centre, was one of the illustrious list of 15 Ottawa residents conferred with the 2025 Order of Ottawa by Mayor Mark Sutcliffe. In his announcement, the Mayor said: “I am thrilled to announce this year’s Order of Ottawa inductees. These individuals have done truly remarkable work in our city, and it will be my absolute honour to celebrate their achievements next month at City Hall”.
Following this announcement Ms Obiorah posted this on LinkedIn: “I am deeply humbled and honoured to be among the 2025 recipients of the Order of Ottawa. My heartfelt thanks to Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, the selection committee, my nominators, and all those who have supported and walked alongside me on this journey.
Anything I do in our community is for and with community — this recognition reflects the incredible people I have the privilege of working beside every day at Somerset West Community Health Centre and across our city. This honour also belongs to my team, mentors, colleagues, community partners and most importantly my family.
Congratulations to all of this year’s inductees — it’s inspiring to be recognized among such phenomenal changemakers who are shaping Ottawa for the better”.
