A Mother’s Day Tribute to a Teacher, Mentor, and Spiritual Guide

by Obasola Bamigbola

I take this moment to honour the extraordinary woman who has touched countless lives with her grace, compassion, and boundless devotion, Omolayo Bamigbola

Omolayo Bamigbola’s journey is one of inspiration and resilience. As a retired primary school teacher, she dedicated her life to nurturing the minds and hearts of young learners. Beyond the confines of the classroom, she was more than just an educator; she was a mentor, a counsellor, and a guiding light to her students. With patience, kindness, and unwavering support, Omolayo instilled in her pupils not only a love for learning but also the values of compassion, empathy, and integrity.

But Omolayo’s impact extended far beyond the realm of academia. After her retirement in 2010, she embarked on a new chapter of her life – one dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. With a heart full of love and a spirit aflame with passion, she became a beacon of hope and faith in her community. Through her words, her actions, and her unwavering belief in the power of God’s love, Omolayo touched many souls, inspiring them to embrace the light of Christ and walk in the path of righteousness.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, I honour my mother, Omolayo Bamigbola not only as a mother to her children but as a mother to all who have had the privilege of knowing her. Her love knows no bounds, her wisdom knows no limits, and her faith knows no end. She is a true embodiment of the virtues of motherhood – selfless, nurturing, and unwavering in her devotion to those she loves.

To my beloved mother, I offer my deepest gratitude for the love, guidance, and inspiration you have bestowed upon me. Your legacy will forever be engraved in many hearts, guiding us with your wisdom and filling our lives with the warmth of your love.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mama mi Omolayo!

With love and admiration,

Obasola Bamigbola.
