Monday 23 June marked the launch of Welcoming Ottawa Week at City, and event to celebrate the contributions of immigrants and newcomers to the city of Ottawa. Mayor Jim Watson was there to declare the beginning of the week long events organised and coordinated by the Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership. the event included testimonials by former refugees, music, dance and art depicting the impact of new Canadians to the city mosaic.
