Over 400 friends and family were ate the Walter Baker arena in Barrhaven to pay homage to Obasola Fasoyinu as she celebrated her 70th birthday. With her husband Yemi by her side and surrounded by her four children and six grand-children, the community leader and social justice advocate, Sola, as he is widely known, was feted by well-wishers for her enduring devotion to her family and her selfless contributions to the various community organizations she belonged to. It was an evening filled with music, delicious food, and enjoyable camaraderie with a family that is well known for being a role model for the various generations that make up the city’s Nigerian community.
