Let God Speak to You Today
by Rev Daniel-Joseph Daniel
How does God speak to His people? Many people ask me. They say, “I want to hear from God. Does He speak in an audible voice? Does He come in the night and whisper to my ear? Will He speak through some animal or write on the wall like He did in the Old Testament?” People don’t realize that God has been speaking to them since they were born, and He is still speaking to them now.
God speaks when you read the Holy Bible with the Holy Spirit in attendance. When you listen, the Holy Spirit will open your ears to hear God and your eyes to see God in His spoken word. God told Joshua, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8).
God is always speaking to you through thoughts, ideas, and visions you keep having in your mind. God speaks to you when you dream. God advised Joseph, Jesus’ earthly step-father two times in the dream. In the first instance, God advised Joseph to not divorce Mary, and in the second instance, God advised him thus, “And when they (the magi) were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. People who are unclear about their personality traits, and gifts should ask God to reveal to them the deepest desires He has placed within them.
Some people call psychic hotlines to get others to tell them their futures. The sad thing is that some Christians do nearly the equivalent of this when they run from meeting to meeting, seeking people to prophesy over them concerning their futures, not understanding that God has given them their visions directly.
A prophet can confirm what you were born with; your talents, and what your potentials are, but he/she will not give you your vision to go with it or show you how to use them. God gives you that directly, and He gives it to you as you listen to Him and follow Him. God says, “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts” (Jeremiah 31:33). Again, one way to discern whether something is a vision from God is to determine whether you have a real desire to do it or merely a passing interest in it. Note: God speaks to His people like you, dearly beloved of the Lord, in many distinct ways such as: through prayer, through the Holy Spirit, through trusted advisers (father, mother, good and trusted friends, your superiors, your pastor/preacher etc.), through your past experiences including events happening around you, like fires, accidents, deaths, sicknesses, wars and ethnic clashes as well as the natural events in your surroundings and experiences. If you ask yourself questions like: Why is the sky blue, why do we have mountains in some parts of the world and only grassland in other parts? Why do we have deserts, seas, rivers and springs? Questions like these can trigger curiosity and motivate you to research and the outcome of your research will certainly be answers from the Lord. As Christians, we are advised to be curious and to ask questions. Please take note that to a learner, no question is irrelevant and God will not shut you up if and when you ask Him things that will help you to know and understand Him more. May God help you to listen and to hear from him more in Jesus’ name.
Pray these prayer points:
O God, let the Herod seeking to destroy my destiny fail, in Jesus’ name
Every satanic agent, sent to destroy my star, I’m not your candidate, be pearlized, in Jesus’ name
You vision-destroyers of my foundation, hear the word of the Lord, become powerless now, in the name of Jesus.
I pray for you: Father, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit, upon Your people. Thank You for revealing to Your people the ways you speak to them. Lord, thank You for the enlightenment. May you help them to begin to listen to you better beginning today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share the message. The Lord help you to know Him better beginning today, in Jesus’ name. It’s me, Daniel-Joseph, your prayer partner. Glory be to Jesus. Amen.
