MP for Ottawa Centre Yasir Naqvi has been a pivotal figure in the national capital region for several years. His profile on Wikipedia reads as follows:

In February 2013, when Kathleen Wynne took over as Premier, she appointed Naqvi to her first cabinet as Minister of Labour.[20] After the June 2014 election, Naqvi was moved to the position of Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and Government House Leader.[21] In 2016, Naqvi and the Ontario Government were criticized for the state of provincial prisons and the human rights violations of inmates.[22][23][24]

On 13 June 2016, he assumed the role of Attorney General following a cabinet shuffle, becoming both the first visible-minority and the first Muslim person to do so.[25]

Much beloved in the national capital region and beyond, MP Yasir Naqvi continues to engage with the residents in his own unique unassuming way. Black Ottawa Scene bring readers some pics of his various engagements with the city’s diverse communities.
