He was 78. Born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, Timothy carried the wisdom of his ancestors and the spirit of a pioneer. He became a beloved pillar of the Nigerian diaspora in Canada, earning his cherished title, Chief Agbonajoro of Ontario, a testament to his leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to community. In the 1970s, Chief Omotunde made his first Canadian home in Montreal, where he became a familiar face and a trusted mentor to many young newcomers. For two decades, he navigated the city’s vibrant streets, building a life and a reputation as a man who could always be counted upon. In the late 1980s, he relocated to Ottawa, where he continued his legacy of service, opening his home and his heart to all who sought his counsel. Known affectionately to everyone as “ *Uncle T* ,” he never met a stranger. His door was always open, his table always set for one more, and his laughter was the anchor of countless family gatherings. He was a founding pillar of the Nigerian Canadian Association of Ottawa community long before such formal titles existed, a quiet force who believed that home was not a place, but the people you carry with you. His greatest pride was his family. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his three children, Olabisi, Oladele, and Olatokunbo, who will strive to honour his legacy of kindness and strength. He was predeceased by his parents. A service of thanksgiving and celebration of his life will be held on *Friday, April 24th , 2026* , at *Hope Cemetery Church* , 4660 Bank Street, Ottawa.
