Flo’s Seniors and ACB Wellness Resource Centre host Black Christmas Soiree

The Taggart Parkes Family Clubhouse on Heatherington Road was the scene of a special Black Christmas soiree jointly hosted by Flo’s Seniors and the ACB Wellness Resource Centre. some 200 guests were there to enjoy an evening of inspirational speeches, good food, comradeship, entertainment, music and dancing. Among the special guests were: Deputy Mayor Rawlson King; Jamaican High Commissioner to Canada, Her Excellency Marsha Core-Lobban; President, Black History Ottawa June Girvan; Vice Chair of the Black Canadian Scholarship Fund, Frederick Lavertu; Operations Manager/Coordinator, BIA Media Network, Len Puckerin; and Founder and Artistic Director Cultural Arts Studio, Suzanne Richards. Master of Ceremony was “Bojangles” Renfrew Thomas Junior, with music by David Supersound.
