On December 14, 2024, the community witnessed an exceptional evening at the CCC-OG's 6th Annual Scholarship Gala. This prestigious event, held at MIFO, brought together nearly 200 guests to support the cause and celebrate the past year's successes.
Hosted by Masters of Ceremonies Jamel Tabu and Lisa Ileka, the evening began with the Canadian and Congolese national anthems sung by the talented Allegria Chorale, followed by inspiring speeches by guests of honour such as Member of Parliament Chandra Arya, Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the DRC in Canada, Mr. Toshi Kabuzamba, Director of Philanthropy-Diplômes de La Cité, Christianne Matte, Executive Director of the MIFO, Mélanie Rhoutier-Boudreau, and Executive Director of the CECCE, Marc Bertrand, who highlighted the importance of current initiatives and future projects. The aim of the gala was to raise funds for scholarships for Congolese students, enabling us to support them in their academic endeavours. We are proud to announce that Florence Malingumu, a student in the Special Education Techniques program, is the recipient of the 2024 scholarship.
Musical entertainment by DJ Nice and artistic performances by Wandara Topzo and comedian Didier Kikala delighted the guests, creating a festive and convivial atmosphere.
This event would not have been possible without the generosity of our partners and sponsors, for whom we are grateful.
