Today, the Kenya High Commission, Ottawa , Canada under the leadership of Her Excellency Amb. Carolyne Kamende Daudi, High Commissioner held a flag-raising ceremony at Ottawa City Hall in celebration of Jamhuri Day. Jamhuri Day is a moment of commemorating Kenya’s nationhood and honoring our country’s journey since independence. In attendance was Sean Devine, Deputy Mayor of Ottawa; members of the diplomatic corps, including H.E. Prosper Higiro, High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda and Dean of the African Group; and members of the Kenyan Diaspora community in Ottawa. The ceremony served as a reminder of Kenya’s rich history, resilience, and its vibrant global diaspora.
