Saturday 21 December 2013, saw over fifty Nigerians and friends of Nigeria gathered at the Sheraton Hotel on Albert Street to pay homage to the late apartheid fighter Nelson Mandela. Hosted by the Nigerian Professional and Business Network (NPBN), as part of its “Business Breakfast with the Leaders”, it was an occasion to reminisce about the life and legacy of the great freedom fighter. Keynote speaker was South Africa’s High Commissioner to Canada, His Excellency Memberthishi Mblandlana, who in his own unique and often humourous way, described his personal experiences fighting alongside the great Madiba for equal opportunity for all his countrymen. Included in the busy morning agenda was a presentation on healthy eating by Dr. Motunrayo Adetola, and the launching of the unique “Ubuntu” Community discount card. NPBN consists of Nigerian-owned businesses and professionals, friends of Nigeria from different professions and businesses, interested in working with Nigerians or in Nigeria; e-mail: [email protected]; phone: 1-877-819-8790; web: www.npbn.org.
