Let My Word Abide in You

by Rev Daniel-Joseph Daniel

It is a fact that no one quoted the Scriptures more than Jesus. When He was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, He responded with God’s Word alone (See Matthew 4:4, 7, 10). Jesus was so familiar with the Word that He wasn’t fooled when the enemy distorted it. (vs 6). When Jesus spoke the Word in faith, God fulfilled it, and Christ overcame temptation. God says, “My Word will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11).

If God’s people would believe this Scripture, it could shake the world. No Word of God is empty of power. If you want the Word to work powerfully in your life, you must make sure it’s inside of you. Please hear this and take it very seriously. Jesus said, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you” (John 15:7). Perhaps you’ve read this verse and tried it, but felt it did not work. Yet Christ was giving us the key to success in life on earth. If it didn’t work for you the first time you tried, I encourage you to try it again with faith believing that God’s word will never fail, I assure you; it will work.

Two conditions for answered prayers are “If you abide in me” and “If my Word abides in you.” Abiding in Jesus means continual spiritual communion with Him by fellowship, worship, prayer and fasting. To test whether God’s Word is abiding or living in you, assess the first thing that comes out of your mouth when you are under pressure. Is it an affirmation of faith, or is it fear, confusion, doubt or anger with profanity? The Word is truly inside us when it directs our thoughts and actions, when you do not allow the sun to set while in anger. When you’re ever ready to forgive even your enemies and when you have died to the flesh, the world and its vices or when you’ve been under pressure to commit sinful acts. Note: you must believe that the Word is working mightily in you, in Jesus’ name.

Please say this prayer with me:

  • Power of God, wash me with the Word and prosper my soul, in Jesus’ name.
  • Jesus Christ, Word of God, let me abide in You according to your Word. Amen

I pray for you: Father God, Jesus quoted Your Word when He faced temptations, help Your children to do the same. Help them to know Your Word so they can defeat the devil with it as Your Son did. O God, let Your Word remain in them, and in those who read this message, richly now. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Beloved of the Lord, please continue to share the Word and pass this message on to others.

May God bless you today and forever, in Jesus’ mighty name. it’s me, your prayer partner, Daniel-Joseph.

Today’s reading:  1 Kings 19-20; Luke 23:1-25.
