On April 9, 2022, is the one-year anniversary of the volcanic eruption at La Soufriere in our homeland. We have now closed out our Volcano Relief Campaign for St. Vincent to provide monetary assistance to those impacted. We raised a total of CD$27,914.00, and we cannot thank our community family enough for your trust and support. From the funds raised, we were able to send monetary relief to those who were displaced and various Projects that have been affected:

Phase 1: Immediate Recovery ReliefNEMO (SVG) via CARION, Toronto Lions Club South The Salvation ArmySweet Radio SVG – Our Community Media Partner (to provide support to the most vulnerable victims of these natural disasters – children & the aged – in Shelters on the mainland & Private homes (Bequia & Canouan), persons with chronic health issues & persons with special needs)

Phase 2: Post Volcano – Rebuilding and Rehabilitation(focus on Agriculture & Educational Projects)Windward Islands Farmers (WINFA)Education Intervention Projects: School for Children with Special Needs, KingstownSunshine School for Children with Special Needs, BequiaThe Hub (Youth Mentorship Programme)

Phase 3: Post Volcano Recovery – FamiliesRelief to 13 Families includes families from North/South Leeward, Union Island and retired veteran Calypsonians

Phase 4: Post Volcano Recovery – Entrepreneurs & Cultural ProjectsFrom Grow To MouthMartin’s FashionBay Heritage Development – Sandy BayIt was a Long Road to Recovery. But Together we Recovered!
