Emancipation Day marked by flag-raising at City Hall

Many thanks to the West Indian Youth Association for today’s Emancipation Day flag raising event at Ottawa City Hall. It was inspiring! Nuff respect to the High Commissioner of Jamaica, Counselor of the Guyana HC and other diplomats as well as Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, MPP Joel Harden, Councilor Rawlson King and community leaders in attendance! Let us never forget the sacrifices, courage and remarkable strength of our Middle Passage ancestors!
